Saturday 8th March is International Women’s Day and Morley Youth Football Club is joining the leagues we’re involved with (Norfolk Combined Youth Football League and Norfolk Women & Girls’ Football League) to thank our fantastic group of female volunteers.
Celebrating some of our many female stars:
Annie O’Toole – is a member of our Committee and plays a key role in our Club as our Welfare lead. Annie is the main driver of the Youth Forum, transferring the ideas of our team representatives into reality. Annie has led a team of volunteers (thank you all) to deliver successful quiz nights, family bingo, raffles and end of season celebrations, raising funds that have purchased Veo cameras for the club (a request of the Youth Forum). Annie also runs our U11 mixed team, keeping the coaches, kids and parents in order. Annie lives and breathes Morley and achieves so much good for the club
Vickie Pleasants – as well as helping run our girls U11 football team (see below), Vickie has massively helped our overall efficiency and organisation since taking on the Assistant Secretary role and joining our Committee. Vickie has brought some great ideas to the Club and has helped grow our website and social media. Vickie is leading on setting up more girls’ football teams at Morley, with some excellent taster sessions currently on offer. We’re reaching more girls and love being part of the growth in girl’s football – thank you Vickie
Emily Finch & Vickie - have successfully established the Clubs first girls’ team (now our U11s – see photo of them with their team). They have developed a great team of girls with so much skill and passion, delivering some fantastic results. Developing more girls’ teams is a key goal of the club and without people like Vickie and Emily this wouldn’t be possible. The girls, parents and everyone involved the girls’ U11s team really value all Emily & Vickie do for the team
The refreshments team, including, Kelly, Hannah, Helen, Claire and Becky have worked really hard to re-establish the Tea Hut at Morley. They are super organised and full of ideas on fundraising, including getting the kids involved in cake bakes. They have helped bring a lovely atmosphere to the club on a Saturday morning. Thank you all (and anyone else we’ve forgotten)
Sarah Dale has helped coach the mixed U10 Stallions team with her brother Carl. Helping with training on a Wednesday night. She is great at sorting drills out for the team and has helped Carl establish a fab team
And to all our other women (Mum’s, Sisters, Grans, other family and friends) who give up their time and help support Morley and our teams – a huge THANK YOU. On this International Women’s Day we want to thank you for all you do to help make Morley a great club
If you get a chance over the weekend, please say thank you to any of the women you know who help make Morley the club we love
